Acknowledgements
I sincerely acknowledge Joanna Penn of the Creative Penn for the awesome ideas and information she unloads on writers with no strings attached. Moreover, I must not fail to thank Ikanna from the softest part of my heart for giving me the push I needed to try my hands on children’s and young adult’s books. My sincere thanks also go to all the people that took time to go through some of my books. Last but certainly not the least; I cannot thank my able illustrator, Ry Kim, enough. Thanks everybody.

A very fat pig is lying in the mud while a duck and her kids are going to the sea
Pig
Big duck, what’s up?
Duck
Good, one sec at a time. One second at a time.
Pig
Great philosophy, mmmmmm. All of us develop awesome philosophies only to drop them in the trash can and drift with the common notion.
Duck
Such common notion is not always right but that’s not for me and not for my people. The road that everyone takes is often the wrong one.
Pig
Who said so?
Duck
I found out many years ago and science tends to agree with it. Everyone can carve his or her own niche. And you’re more comfortable when you walk the bridge you built or a bridge you helped to establish.
Pig
We’ll come back to that in the future. Huge thoughts and long words make my head swim.
Duck
If I may remind you, the future is not yours to keep.
Pig
Mmmmmmm, another good one. What did you take this morning?
Duck
Why?
Pig
Whatever it was, its main ingredient is inspiration.
Duck
No, no. Inspiration comes from years of experience mixed with some elements of equanimity.
Pig
(The pig did not want to ask for the meaning of the big word and was in a hurry to change the topic.)
Could I ask you a question, please?
Duck
Sure, you can always can. A question about …?
Pig
I wonder how you manage to keep your kids in a perfect line, behind you.
Duck
Good home training, period.
Pig
I hope you’re not trying to infer that I do not train my babies very well. I mean, you don’t want to prove any point.
Duck
I didn’t say so. You did.
Pig
Should I take it as a compliment?
Duck
You can take it as a compliment or a supplement. It’s up to you.
Pig
My good friend, I’m not in the mood to bandy words with you this afternoon, or is it late morning?
Duck
You can call it mid morning or early afternoon. It’s still up to you but allow me feed you one more fact. When my kids are in a line behind me, it helps me have a better view of each of them. As you can see, my eyes are on the sides. I don’t need to swing my head to do that but I always wished I had one more eye at the back. Moreover, it’s more difficult to keep them in check when they’re scattered.
Pig
(Changes the subject subtly)
Mmmmm. The line seems longer today than the last time you passed this way. What happened?
Duck
You’re right. Some of them took more time than I had expected to arrive. Unlike teaching them to obey simple instructions and great manners, the time they should arrive is way beyond my control.
Pig
Why do you think they took so long to arrive?
Duck
I’ve just said that.
